I believe that teaching can change people’s perspective of life. I am as an example of that change. Ten years ago, I was an immigrant who barely spoke any English. Because of all the dedicating and loving teachers, who have been very patient with me, I became who I am today. Since education with excellent teachers has changed my life, I want to be a teacher to help make a difference for others. My goal is to create learning experiences that engage students both in and out of the classroom. Students should come to class, learn something new, work with their classmates to form a better picture of the concept in their mind, and then find places in their lives where the ideas are real and apparent. I have found that in the field of math and science, even the most abstract theory can be made more concrete via real world examples and analogies.
As a teacher at Charlotte Mecklenburg School, I have especially focused North Carolina Common Core Standard on the preparation process. Whenever I come into the classroom, I should have been well prepared for all the expected and unexpected things that can happen. I usually spend time planning and organizing my lessons so that I can make the most use of the available lecture time. I teach at school great amount of diversity students , when creating lesson plans, I not only concentrate on the teaching part but also pay special attention to the learning part of each group of my students. I want every student in my classroom to have the best learning experience and to be able to fully understand and make use of the taught lessons. To help students, I have tried to learn, model and apply different teaching strategies such as the Common Core standard, Marzano’s nine instructional strategies for Effective teaching and learning, differentiate strategies and literacy-comprehension strategies, collecting data to reflect of teaching practice.
